Company Profile

Njord Offshore Ltd. manages Crew Transfer Vessels for the Offshore Windfarm Sector. Our head office is based in Tendring, UK and our operations extend throughout Northern Europe.

We are focused on bringing our clients an industry leading service with efficient and well maintained vessels, qualified and trained crew and backed up by a hardworking experienced shore-side team.

All our vessels are fully classed with an IACS member and purpose built for Offshore Wind Industry. Our vessels are built for a wide range of duties however passenger comfort & offshore transfer capability remain our key focus.

2011

Njord Offshore Established

Njord Offshore Ltd. was established in December 2011 with newbuilding contracts with Strategic Marine PTE., Singapore for 6 x 21m CTVs. The vessels were designed by BMT Nigel Gee with extensive feedback from experts in the European Offshore Wind Sector.

 

2013

Njord Avocet & Njord Kittiwake delivered into Rotterdam

In Q1 2013 the first two 21m newbuilds, Njord Avocet & Njord Kittiwake were delivered, by a heavylift vessel, into Europe. The two vessels quickly went into contract with SSE on Greater Gabbard OWF and with Repower on Thornton Bank.

Njord Curlew & Njord Lapwing

In Q3 2013 the 3rd and 4th 21m vessels, Njord Curlew and Njord Lapwing, were delivered straight into charters to assist in the construction of Meerwind OWF in Helgoland, Germany.

Njord Petrel & Njord Puffin

In Q4 2013 the 5th & 6th 21m vessels, Njord Petrel and Njord Puffin, were delivered into Europe. Njord Petrel going onto Dan Tysk OWF operating from Esbjerg, Denmark and Njord Puffin working out of Borkum, Germany assisting in the construction of Borkum West II OWF.

2014

Njord Alpha – 26m LOA Damen Twinaxe

In Q1 2014 Njord Alpha, a Damen Twinaxe – modified to Njord Offshore’s requirements with increased foredeck usage space and increased visibility for the crew, was delivered. She went straight into a charter with existing clients on Meerwind OWF.

2015

Njord Odin, Njord Thor, Njord Freyr & Njord Magni

2015 saw the delivery of the first Quad IPS Crew Transfer Vessel. These vessels introduced unrivalled redundancy with 4 independent drivelines into an industry where the CTVs make up part of the critical logistical supply chain. In addition the Volvo IPS system offered industry leading maneuverability and transfer performance.

Ventus Marine/PSA Marine

In Q4 2015 Njord Offshore Ltd. took the exclusive management of the Ventus Marine crew transfer vessel fleet, a wholly owned subsidiary of PSA Marine, Singapore. These vessels, also previously managed by Njord Offshore with their previous Owners, joined Njord Offshore’s commercial and technical pool.

2016

Njord Forseti & Njord Balder

In 2016 too delivery of another two 26m LOA Quad IPS vessels. Both of these vessels were but to be operated under HS-OSC and have a passenger carrying capacity of 24pax.

2017

Njord Offshore Ltd./PSA Marine

On the National Day of Singapore, 9th October 2017, PSA Marine took a share in Njord Offshore Ltd.

2018

Njord Zenith & Njord Zephyr

Q2 2018 saw the delivery of the next generation 27m LOA Quad IPS Z-Bow CTVs, Njord Zenith & Njord Zephyr, with increased bunker capacity, reduced draft and increased foredeck size. The design was a development from the 26m design but focused at increased SOV support.

2019

Njord Wind & Njord Thunder – 23m LOA CPP CTVs for MHI Vestas

Q4 2019 saw the delivery of 2 x 23m CPP CTVs designed and built specifically for long term charters with MHI Vestas in Belgium.

2020

Njord Zeta & Njord Zuider

Q3 2020 saw the delivery of two more 27m LOA Quad IPS Z-Bow CTVs, Njord Zeta & Njord Zuider, both vessels started on long term O&M charters on arrival in Europe.

Crewing & Fleet Engineers

Njord Offshore has a great team of hard working, well trained crew who we are proud to represent us on our vessels. We have developed a significant number of in-house training modules, specific to our vessels and Offshore Wind Farm operations to ensure that all our staff are properly trained in their duties.

Our Fleet Engineers bring experienced skills and technical knowledge to the fleet and provide both remote and hands-on shore-side support 7 days a week.
